Undisputed Welterweight champion Terrence Crawford was stripped of his IBF title
The question of most fans is, "Why"?
The response is simple. MONEY!
That is why the belt-sanctioning body stripped Crawford.
I am sure the IBF viewed things like this: Crawford may be the undisputed champ, but the Spence rematch will not occur, and Crawford is 36. Why wait until he vacates the title? Let's strip him now and literally hand the title to someone who is young, marketable, and valuable.
Enter Jaron 'Boots' Ennis.
He is 26 (not 36) and is the most exciting fighter in the welterweight division.
The IBF is only concerned with their 3% sanction fee, paid by the fighter who will be a multi-million dollar earner. Ennis is the next best in the sport.
Crawford is yesterday's news (to the IBF).
